[140 BBDO goes to Cannes] Michael Pearson: Today we were lucky enough to spend some time with Terry Savage – the chairman of the Cannes Awards. He is an Australian who has the unenviable task of organising the biggest ad fest in the world.

[140 BBDO goes to Cannes] Michael Pearson: "Cheers! Bye! Have a jol! Good luck!" ...and then…27 hours after leaving our loved ones behind, we finally arrived in Cannes (via Istanbul and some unforeseen delays).

[140 BBDO goes to Cannes] Michael Pearson: Ross and I were lucky enough to pick up some metal at Cannes last year - for our Snickers radio campaign - which is why 140 BBDO have sent us this year.

[trigger/isobar goes to SxSW] Uno de Waal: A key theme threading through SxSW this year is the idea that an agency (marketing, advertising, communications etc) should function in very similar ways to a start-up. This is primarily running through the start-up track led by the 500Startups crew, under guidance of Eric Ries and Dave McClure, but other talks have also peppered the packed schedule.
